About Us
Everguard Claims and Asset Recovery Group specializes in recovering excess proceeds generated after State and County tax sales. We provides state compliant, administrative, procedural, and research‑based services to help rightful owners and/or their heirs claim funds that are owed to them. Many homeowners and heirs may not even realize that when their property is foreclosed or sold at a tax auction, it can actually sell for more than what is owed. In many cases the amount can be substantial. Those excess proceeds (surplus funds) belong to the former property owners and it is our mission to ensure we recover these funds before the deadline to claim expires.
Our Personal Mission
At Everguard, our commitment to helping families recover excess funds is deeply personal. For our partner Shannan, this objective grew out of his own family’s experience. After the passing of his father, their modest family home was auctioned to cover unpaid taxes. In a time of grief and confusion, the family was never informed that the property sold for a much higher amount than the taxes owed. The excess funds that rightfully belonged to them went unclaimed and eventually turned over to the state, simply because they were uninformed. It became our mission to stop this from happening to other families in situations just like Shannan’s.
